HRCPP’s CERT PREP COURSE APPROACH
Every program and instructor is unique! As an HRCPP client, we welcome the opportunity to share best practices with each other and enhance our mutual success by collaboratively improving the services we provide to our students and the HR community.
Underlying HRCPP’s success are these core elements of the approach that has worked best for us in our own classes:
- Assign students reading from the HRCP materials;
- Emphasize the importance of [1] studying glossary terms (HRCP and others) and [2] consistently honing their test-taking skills by taking all practice tests when assigned;
- Utilize the slides, class exercises and discussions, and practice questions during class;
- Recommend additional practice test resources such as mobile apps and assessments available on HRCI.org;
- Engage and connect with our students as peers and professionals, for example, by connecting on LinkedIn;
- Provide an “open door” for students to access us by email, text or phone with questions or concerns, either about class / the materials or issues they are dealing with at work or during their transition;
- Ensure that our classes are educational, interactive, energizing, entertaining, and inspiring; and
- Stay in touch with students until (and after) they pass their exam!
